Glitter, Glitter Everywhere!

I don't know about other people, but I have a TON of keys and nonsense on my keyring.  I found this pin to make identifying keys easy by using glitter.  I love glitter and pretty girly shiny things so I figured I'd give it a shot.

This is what it should look like:

 

I got to work and grabbed my keyring and started the process.  I used my runny glue from my salty pumpkins  and lathered up the keys.  I poured the glitter on them and let them sit for an hour like it says and flipped and repeated on the other side.  I let them sit another hour and coated them with a clear coat of nail polish and let them dry.  I did this about four times because my glitter was a little chunky.  I also made sure to get the sides with the nail polish.  I don't think they turned out half bad.



 

Hopefully this will help pick out the right key easier!

Pumpkin fun

 



 

In keeping with the fall theme from yesterday I decided to try another autumn decoration to spruce up the house.  I found these cute this pumpkins that were spiced up with epsom salt so they looked more elegant and sparkly, and I love sparkly. 

 

See, isn't it pretty?!  So I went to the dollar store and grabbed a pumpkin and some epson salt.  They didn't have stands so I scrapped that idea.  So I used painted the pumpkin in glue (which for some reason was really runny, next time I need to get the name brand).  Then I poured some epsom salt over it and voila.  If I had a nicer pumpkin it would look a little better and orange I think but not too shabby for $2.  And now I have tons of epsom salt leftover for so many other crafts (and I've been told it looks like snow when used in crafting).

 

 



 

So all-in-all I think it turned out well.  The cat definitely likes it.  It's his own personal cat lick.  Yuuum.  Pinterest - 0 Lorin - 1.

Happy Halloween!

So this was my first year in a neighborhood so I was super excited to have trick or treaters! I wanted to have some decorations outside for them so it wasn't just a bleh house. I, of course, found ideas on pinterest, because pinterest has everything. I used some toilet paper, saved up the rolls and got to work. I just improvised and didn't use a template like the link shows but it came out pretty well...until I put them in the bushes.  I had the long bracelet/necklace glow sticks and didn't have time to go out and get the regular ones because as usual I did this last minute.  So I wrapped the glow sticks in half and squeezed them in the toilet roll.  It ended up working well because they didn't fall out but new glowsticks would have been brighter and may have made the eyes brighter.

 



 This picture came out better, but since trick or treaters come out at dusk it didn't fulfill the purpose.  BUT they look pretty scary in the picture do they not!  Plus my stupid bushes have branches way to tight or way to flimsy so it was super hard finding a spot to put them in. 

 



I'm not sure if this is a score for Pinterest or me, but we'll call it a draw.
